Adoption Services for Adults is run by people with many years of experience and plenty of expertise in searching and in working with adults affected by adoption. The service is registered with Ofsted, registration number: SC463447, and it will be inspected in accordance with adoption support regulations.
Jean is a qualified social worker, HCPC registration number: SW60224 (viewable on the HCPC website). She has a post graduate management qualification from Cass Business School, City University, and has many years of experience working with adults affected by adoption and in managing adoption support services.
Jean is also a member of the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) and abides by their ethics and code of practice. She has professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance, both through BASW.
Jean contracts the majority of her searches to two fantastic and highly experienced ex-NORCAP researchers who have both worked with adoption searches for many years. Your search will be in expert hands.
Sadly, it doesn't always work out. Some people are impossible to find, perhaps because they have changed their names several times and are living overseas. If this is the case, and if it is felt to be OK and appropriate, we sometimes do our best to find another relative to see if they will help make contact. It very much depends on the circumstances.
Sometimes people do not want to be found, and if they are, they are distressed. In such cases we have to respect their wishes to be left alone. Should they change their minds in the future, they would have our contact details.
